Take your throwing skills beyond the cylinder and start creating functional forms.
Meeting over two consecutive days for 6 hours of instruction, this course is the perfect follow-on from Wheel Throwing 101 or for potters with at least 8 hours of previous wheel experience in another studio.
This course focuses on shaping more complex pieces such as bowls and vases and will use progressively larger amounts of clay. You’ll refine your control, improve consistency, and expand your technical range. You’ll also develop your trimming skills further and be introduced to handle pulling, allowing you to create mugs and cups. Optional slip decoration will be available for those keen to experiment.
Up to four pieces can be fired at no additional cost, with a glazing session to follow in 5–6 weeks.
