A great choice for those who want to try a more tactile approach to pottery, no wheel required.
A great choice for those who want a more tactile approach to pottery — no wheel required.
In this one-hour session, you'll build a coiled vase, mug, or dish by hand — shaping, pinching, and refining the clay without the wheel. It's slower than throwing, more forgiving, and a genuinely good way to understand what clay actually does.
There's also far more room for customisation and decoration than in a throwing taster. Add handles, stamp in custom motifs, or letter your piece inside or out — the sky's the limit.
By the end, you'll have a vessel entirely your own making and completely unique from everyone else in the class. Take it home the same day, or arrange collection within 24 hours. For a small additional fee of £5, we'll fire and glaze it, ready in four to six weeks.
Age: 7+ (Note, minors must be accompanied by a supervising adult)
What to bring: All tools and aprons are provided.
What to wear: Clay is messy, so we encourage casual dress when possible. The stoneware clay used in this class will brush or wash off of most fabrics relatively easily.
Where we meet: 127 High Street, Henley-in-Arden B955AU
Accessibility: We pride ourselves in being accessible. We have a ramped entrance for those with limited mobility and a ground floor toilet. All of our pottery wheels can be operated by hand or foot. We encourage you to contact us to discuss your specific needs prior to booking.
