A great choice for those who want to try a more tactile approach to pottery, no wheel required.

In this one-hour taster session you’ll build a coiled pot by hand — shaping, pinching and refining the clay without the wheel. It’s slower than throwing and more forgiving. A good way to understand what clay actually does.

By the end of the session, you’ll have created your own small pot entirely by hand.  You can leave with one freshly made pot — take it home the same day, or arrange collection within 24 hours. For a small additional fee it can be fired and glazed, ready in five to six weeks.

What to bring: All tools and aprons are provided.

What to wear:  Clay is messy, so we encourage casual dress when possible.  The stoneware clay used in this class will brush or wash off of most fabrics relatively easily.

Accessibility: We pride ourselves in being accessible.  We have a ramped entrance for those with limited mobility and a ground floor toilet.  All of our pottery wheels can be operated by hand or foot.  We encourage you to contact us to discuss your specific needs prior to booking.
