Discover the art of handbuilding the human form in porcelain from our expert, Mia Bradford.
In this three-hour workshop, you’ll learn to sculpt a seated figure using simple pinching techniques — no wheel experience needed, and open to complete beginners.
We’ll start with the body, pinching and shaping a solid, rounded form for the torso and building expressive limbs by hand. You’ll explore how a few small choices — the tilt of a head, the curve of a spine, the fold of an arm — can bring real emotion and character into a small sculptural piece. We’ll finish with detailed textured hair, using simple tools to add personality and finishing touches to your figure.
By the end of the session, you’ll have created your own handbuilt porcelain figure, ready to fire and glaze.
This workshop is designed to be fully achievable by beginners — no prior experience necessary. All materials, tools, and firing included. The class size is small, so you wIll have plenty of time to ask questions of Mia during the class,
