Build on your pottery foundations and develop greater confidence, control and creativity with clay.
Ideal for those who have completed a beginners’ course or have equivalent experience, this six-week course combines wheel throwing, more advanced hand-building and surface decoration, with space to experiment and develop your own style.
Across six weekly two-hour sessions, you’ll explore:
-
Week 1: Throwing bowls and curved forms with greater consistency.
-
Week 2: Creating taller vases and bottles, exploring shoulders and narrower necks.
-
Week 3: Trimming and refining your pots, including creating foot rings.
-
Week 4: Slab construction for lidded, geometric or sculptural vessels.
-
Week 5: Expressive hand-built forms using coils or moulds.
-
Week 6: Decorating with slips, underglazes and glazes, including sgraffito and wax resist.
