Bring your group together for 90 minutes of hands-on pottery.  Split across two core techniques every potter learns, it is a great option for total beginners and is family-friendly, too. 

Build on the wheel

45 minutes at the potter's wheel, learning to centre and shape clay. Expect a wobble or two at first — that's normal for everyone — and your instructor will be right there to help you find your rhythm. Most people throw 1–3 pots by the time this half wraps up.

Build by hand

45 minutes coiling — a slower, more considered way of working. You'll shape one vessel by hand (a small vase, a trinket dish, a bowl — your call), with plenty of scope to decorate and personalise as you go. Personalities really come out here - each piece completely unique.

Some in your group will take to the wheel straight away; others will fall for the calm, tactile pace of hand-building. This session lets everyone try both and see what clicks — making it a good fit for birthday parties, hen and stag groups, corporate get-togethers, or families working side by side.

Price: £65 per person.  Minimum price equivalent to 5 attendees (£300) although smaller groups are welcome at this price.  Maximum of 12 attendees. 

Age:  7+ (all minors must be accompanied by a supervising adult)

What to bring: All tools and an aprons are provided. 

What to wear:  Clay is messy, so we encourage casual dress when possible.  The stoneware clay used in this class will brush or wash off of most fabrics relatively easily.
