Slab-building is one of the most versatile techniques in pottery — precise where the wheel is fluid, structural where throwing is centrifugal.
In this 4.5-hour workshop, led by hand-building tutor Ros Ingram, you'll make a functional jug from start to finish using slab methods: shaping, joining, refining.
All jugs completed in the session will be fired and ready for glaze in 4-5 weeks. Students are invited to a follow-on glazing session to finish their work at the studio at no cost.
This workshop is a good follow-up for anyone who attended the hand-building taster class, but the class will accept anyone who wants to learn slab-building techniques, from novice to experienced potter.
Date and Time: Saturday 3rd October, 10 am - 2:30 pm. We will take a 30 minute break at the halfway point. A hot drinks voucher for Cafe 86b will be available for attendees to use at the break.
